A denied insurance claim isn't always the end of the road. A lot of homeowners don't realize that. They get that denial letter, assume it's final, and just move on - leaving real money on the table and a damaged roof overhead. That's exactly the situation we stepped into on this one.

We reviewed the claim, documented everything properly, and went to bat for this homeowner through the process. The result - a full roof replacement, fully approved. The old shingles came off, the decking got inspected, and fresh underlayment went down across the entire roof before a single new shingle was installed. That's the right way to do it.

For the new roof, we went with a Class 4 impact-resistant asphalt shingle. Class 4 is the highest impact rating available. These shingles are built to hold up against hail and severe weather in ways that standard shingles simply can't. In a lot of cases, upgrading to a Class 4 roof also qualifies homeowners for a discount on their homeowner's insurance - so the protection pays off in more ways than one.

Here's what we want people to understand - the insurance process can be complicated, and carriers don't always get it right the first time. Having a roofing contractor who knows what to look for and how to document storm damage correctly can make all the difference between a denial and a full replacement approval. That's part of what we do.

If your claim was denied, or if you haven't had your roof looked at since the last major storm rolled through, it's worth getting a second opinion. A complete roof replacement with the right materials starts with someone actually taking the time to assess what's there.
