Insurance companies deny storm damage claims more often than most homeowners realize. It happens all the time - an adjuster comes out, takes a quick look, and decides the damage doesn't meet the threshold for a full replacement. But here's the thing: adjusters miss stuff. And when they do, homeowners get stuck holding the bag on a roof that genuinely needs to be replaced.

That's exactly what happened here. The claim was denied initially, but we knew what we were looking at. Shingles peeled back, underlayment exposed, decking taking on moisture - this roof had taken a serious hit from storm damage. We documented everything, went back to the insurance company, and got the denial overturned. Full replacement approved.

Once we got the green light, we got to work. Old shingles and damaged underlayment came off completely. We laid down GAF StormGuard leak barrier before a single new shingle went on - that's a self-adhering membrane that creates a watertight seal in the areas most vulnerable to leaks, like the eaves and valleys. It's the kind of detail that separates a roof that lasts from one that gives you problems down the road.

From there, new asphalt shingles went on the full roof. Every layer done right, from the deck up. This homeowner went from a denied claim to a brand new roof - and didn't have to fight the insurance company alone to get there.

If your claim has been denied, don't just accept it. Storm damage isn't always obvious from the ground, and insurance adjusters don't always catch everything. We know what to look for, we know how to document it, and we know how to make the case. We've done it before, and we can walk through it with you.
